About Me

Hi! I'm Kasie West, author of many young adult novels, mostly contemporary romance. I live in Central California where the summers try to kill me with their 115 degree stretches. I battle the heat mostly by going here:

Which, aside from writing, is one of my favorite escapes.

I have four kids, three of whom are all grown now, so most of my days I spend with this guy:

I graduated from Fresno State University with a BA degree that has nothing to do with writing.  I love sappy alternative rock ballads, eating chocolate covered cinnamon bears, binging television shows, and reading way past my bedtime.

  10. I didn't know where to leave this comment, so I decided to stick it here. But I just finished three of your books within the past 17 hours, hence posting this at this ungodly hour. I love your work, the fact that is laid back and has depth to it makes for quite an enjoyable read. I don't know if you'll ever actually see this, but if you do, thanks for putting countless smiles on my face and making me swoon due to imaginary characters. With love, Catherine.

  14. Dear Kasie,
since I found a girl reading your book "The distance between us" in german (on YouTube) I LOVE your books! I already know Pivot Point, Split Second, The Distance between us (one of my favorite books ever!!) and On the fence. I know them in german and now I try to read all your books in english, too. (I'm from germany, so please excuse my bad english^^) And I saw that you have a new book (P.s. I like you) beside the Fill-in boyfriend, which I want to have since months, and that there is a new book coming and gosh it's so amazing!!! I love the way you write, how you create the characters and I really really enjoyed the comeback of Henry, Skay & Caymen in On the Fence.
It's incredible how many books you write in that little time - and how good these books are, I mean, they aren't some trash, but really good literature!
So THANK YOU for your books!! I love them!
    Your Arika<3

  22. Hey :)

So, I don't know if you will actually read this, but I just wanted to let you know that your books have helped me tremendously. I'm always again in awe when I start a new one; I love your way with words and story arcs. It also reminds me of why I used to write so much and what I enjoyed so much about it. I should stop letting life steal my time and inspiration away.
You inspire me, and your words lend comfort, so thank you - so, so much. For using such an amazing talent and sharing the results with the world. You have my deepest respect.

  23. Kasie, thank you for writing YA fiction that is happy, fun, and something I want my daughter to read. Your novels are well-written, your voice is genuine, and your characters are lovable. Please keep writing many more!

  24. Could you tell me how you get inspiration for your books, you go so in depth in your stories it's almost like these people you are writing about are actual people, with actual lives?

  25. I am jr. high/high school teacher/librarian and mother of 5 and want to let you know how much I appreciate your books. I try to read as many books as I can so I can recommend them to the students who often ask me what they should read. So many books I've read are great books, but they have really bad language and are a little too explicit for our younger students. I have no reservations ordering, reading and recommending your books and know when my 10 and 12-year-old daughters begin to get into romance books, yours will be "safe" for them to read. Thank you!!

  27. Okay wow where to begin lol. I bought two of your books, "The Distance Between Us" and "The Fill-In Boyfriend" about three years ago. I loved them so much I actually did reports for them in English. Recently, I have read "On the Fence" and "P.S. I Like You". Your books make me so happy and I am glad you write these cute love stories! "P.S. I Like You" made me so happy especially; I totally want to try to write secret letters under my desk in class in real life lol. I just wanted to say that I have been a fan of you for years, and I am so happy to read your books throughout school and at home. You definitely have made my love for reading come out again for I seem to not want to put down your books! That being said, thank you for all that you do in these books. I can't wait to read the rest and grin my hardest at each of the stories. I swear, I smile so hard (if that is even a thing) with these books. Currently I am reading "Love, Life, and the List". I am so excited to see where the story goes! Again, thank you for being an amazing author I know I can count on to make me hooked to books!
