Australia

Perhaps I am a little biased (refer to my 'Super Heroes' post), but yesterday I saw the movie Australia, starring Hugh Jackman and Nicole Kidman, and I am in love. This is the best movie I have seen in a long time. It shot straight into my top five favorite movies of all time. Three hours have never passed by so quickly. So grab your husbands (because even though it's a romance, I promise you they will like it too) and go see this amazing, action packed, heart wrenching movie, you will not regret it.

  1. I really do want to see this, even pre-Kasie recommended. How the heck can you go wring with Hugh and Nicole AND Australia? No, I don't think you can.

  2. Oh, I SO want to see this movie! Gorgeously rugged Hugh aside, it looks really good. Also, I am a big fan of Baz Luhrmann (the director).

    Yay! I'm glad it's good.

  3. THIS is the movie I want to see. I am hoping and praying it makes up for my disappointment in Twilight. I have got to see it some time this weekend! I had a hunch it was good, but now I am excited to be swept away in a good romantic movie. Awww....

  4. Natalie, you can't go wrong and they don't. Really, I can't say it enough, it is amazing.

Renee, Hugh is wonderful (of course), but Nicole Kidman and the little boy that star in it actually stole my heart. Nicole was incredible.

Audrey, when me and my sisters walked out of the theatre we looked at each other and said, "Twilight? What's Twilight?" We almost felt silly for having seen Twilight after watching this movie. It was in a whole different league. I'm going to take my husband back to see Australia. I was really sad I didn't go with him actually. Believe me when I say, the men will love this movie too. Take them.

  5. Good to hear that "Australia" was a good movie. I've been wanting to see it and Rick was too scared that it would be too chick flickish (baby!). I read him what you wrote so I think he's on board now. Got caught up on your blogs--entertaining. I wish I could get some famous people reading (and commenting) on my blog. Lucky girl! :) Hope you all had a good Thanksgiving.

  6. Emily, Rick will like this for sure. It's full of history, even a little war history. Both of my sisters went again tonight and took their husbands and I'm taking Jared tomorrow night.

  7. I really need to see this. You are the second person to recommend it to me so I'm sure that it's good. I just feel so out of it with movies lately I haven't even seen a trailer for this! Hmm...I guess I've sorta had a one-track mind for movies lately. LOL. I gotta get out more!

  10. You and your minions will disagree but I give it a 4.2/10. Your comment associating this movie with Pearl Harbor was pretty accurate, and like I said then, not a fan of that one either. So I have no heart as you have previously accused me of, or your dreams of Hugh Jackman calling you Mrs. Boss have come true on the silver screen. Then again there could be some truth in both possibilities.

  12. Okay, that last deleted comment was just my own.

Kevin, I was speaking of normal men when I said men would like it. I wasn't of speaking of men who have no heart and think that love stories get in the way of graphic violence. But that's okay I still love you, and will forgive you for your horrible taste in movies because you rock the house at guitar hero and you kick my trash at pretty much every board game out there, thus proving your awesome superiority in all things intellectual. So your big brain makes up for your tiny heart. (don't know how your mind continues to function with all the trash you watch)

  13. Mrs. Boss, Steph agrees with your assessment of my taste in films. I concede that I can be a bit harsh in my judgments of chick flicks and I further grant that this film has more potential for your typical minion male counterparts to enjoy than say Mama Mia or some other like gibberish. However, I don't think that I am as isolated in my thinking as you have portrayed. I therefore request the opinions of any guys who have seen this film and are willing to give an honest review without fear of recourse from their masters.

  15. Terri, yes you should go see it. I just saw it for the second time tonight and loved it even more.

Kevin, I want you to know without any prompting from me whatsoever, Neal leaned over when the movie was over and said, and I quote, "That was really good. Really good." And Jared liked it a lot too. So there. :)

  16. I think it was dispicable how soon Mrs. Potts slept with the drover(me) after he was only dead for 15 minutes. However, since I am a man, I will overlook it this once, or twice.

  17. Kevin (and Jared, because noting the time this is obviously what you were up to during dinner at Mom's) her name was Lady Ashley, not Mrs. Potts. I want to write so much more, but I won't. I am going to think of a new post now.
