Ready, Set, Clean

For those of you who have been around since last year, you may remember that I didn't participate in NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) where writers everywhere dedicate the month of November to start and finish a novel. It's an exercise in obsessive behavior. But since I am obsessed every month, I take the month of November to try something called balance. To do something that I avoid the rest of the year.....

CLEAN.

Many of you may have gasped at that thought. Believe me, it's scary for me too. But, it must be done. I'm setting my goal at 2700 minutes this year. That is 90 minutes of cleaning a day. You can track my progress on the sidebar. And hey, if you want to participate, feel free to grab one of your own county things here and set your own realistic cleaning goal. This might be a good competition for all my non-writer friends out there to join. Although, you probably keep beautifully clean houses.

Either way, get ready because the cleaning will begin in 10 days.

  1. My husband would love it if I took this challenge on. Maybe I will. My house needs it sooooo bad, especially if I include organizing in with the cleaning.

  2. I know you would never do such a thing, but don't sneak and get a headstart on me. :-)

  3. Lois, you can totally count organizing, that is cleaning. :)

Linda, I'm not even tempted to get a head start. In fact I'm using it as an excuse not to clean anything for the next 10 days. It's pathetic.

  4. I admire you goal, I really do. This November, however, I think I'm going to go for NaNoWriMo. Especially since I've spent the past two months cleaning and dreaming as a way to avoid actually writing. I've had enough NaNoPoMo (National Novel Pondering Month)

  6. I absolutely love how everyone has their own version of Na"WhEv"Mo. Reading books month, cleaning month...I'm seriously inspired! Good luck cleaning...

  7. I tried to do this with you last year and failed miserably. This year I will attempt to write!! What a novel idea (cheesy pun intended).

  8. Kasie, I'm just as pathetic, then because I'm doing the same thing.

  9. Forget spring cleaning, I definitely need a fall cleaning.

  10. That will go well with your goal to give your husband a massage for 90 minutes a day. Then you should take at least 90 minutes of "me" time a day and cry. Girls like to cry right?

  11. Babe, you really need to change your profile pic. It's starting to creep me out. Really.....time for a new old man.

  12. Do the Washer & Dryer cycles, or the dishwasher cycle count on your time? If so, and you have as much laundry and dishes as I do, you have that 90 minutes IN THE BAG! (You won't even have to do "real" cleaning!)
