I don't believe I haven't talked about this book yet. This was hands down, one of my favorite reads of 2010. It was fun, clever, different, and the boy was pretty darn lovable too. Hale. *sigh* *swoon* Seriously, if you haven't read this book, you should. I can't wait for book two to come out. Speaking of....when does it come out?
"When Katarina Bishop was three, her parents took her to the Louvre...to case it. For her seventh birthday, Katarina and her Uncle Eddie traveled to Austria...to steal the crown jewels. When Kat turned fifteen, she planned a con of her own--scamming her way into the best boarding school in the country, determined to leave the family business behind. Unfortunately, leaving "the life" for a normal life proves harder than she'd expected. Soon, Kat's friend and former co-conspirator, Hale, appears out of nowhere to bring her back into the world she tried so hard to escape. But he has good reason: a powerful mobster's art collection has been stolen, and he wants it returned. Only a master thief could have pulled this job, and Kat's father isn't just on the suspect list, he is the list. Caught between Interpol and a far more deadly enemy, Kat's dad needs her help. For Kat there is only one solution: track down the paintings and steal them back. So what if it's a spectacularly impossible job? She's got two weeks, a teenage crew, and hopefully just enough talent to pull off the biggest heist in her family's (very crooked) history--and, with any luck, steal her life back along the way."

I bought this book when I met Ally Carter on her tour (she is fantastic by the way), but I still haven't read it yet! Glad to hear it's such a great read :)ReplyDelete
the cover enough convinced me.ReplyDelete
I loved this book, too. Something about teenagers breaking the law, it's just so uplifting. But really, I'm looking forward to book 2 as well. I like your new profile picture. I vote for that one.ReplyDelete
I bought this for Jenny for Christmas but still haven't read it myself.ReplyDelete
I haven't read Ally Carter yet, but I plan on buying the Gallagher Girls box set. This one looks awesome, too.ReplyDelete
I've not read any of this author's books or book - but LOVE that cover!ReplyDelete

Just read it and liked it. Thanks to Candi. Kasie, I love that you swoon over the 15yr old. Ha Ha...thats why I love you!...because you're young at heart...not because you are a creepy pedifile who actually swoons over 15 yr olds...kind of reminds me of a story...ok I'm done. If you dont post this I won't be offended. LOL!ReplyDelete
Jenny, I try not to think of their age when I'm swooning over them. :) It helps that there are no pictures. It reminds me of a certain story too. lolReplyDelete
