It's Back

I'm a happy girl. American Idol started again last night, season one, one (as we heard from Randy on many occasions throughout the episode). I love that show. Love it. I thought I would hate it without Simon. I thought Simon was what I liked so much about the show. But no. It's not true. In fact, I tried to watch X Factor this season (because of Simon) and I only made it about half way through the season. So it must be the format of American Idol that I love. These first several weeks are my favorite where we get to see the raw emotion of a dream becoming a reality. It makes me so happy. So happy that I felt the need to gush about American Idol on my blog. It's on again tonight for those of you who didn't realize it had started. Which, btw, it used to be that you'd have to be living under a rock to not realize the shows that were about to start. But now, with DVRs I never watch commercials so I'm constantly uninformed about what the networks think I can't live without.

Also, if I'm going to write a post about American Idol, I can't stop there. The Voice starts in a few weeks too. ..............................Sorry, I was thinking about Adam Levine and don't remember what point I was going to make. Just watch him. I mean it.

One day Adam Levine is going to respond to me on Twitter. In the mean time, I will continue to pretend like I'm witty when I respond to his tweets as though we are having a conversation. A conversation where one person is talking and the other person is ignoring them. That's still considered a conversation, right?? I'll go ask Adam what he thinks.

In totally unrelated news, don't forget to sign up for our contest over at Friday the Thirteeners! The contest ends tonight! There will be 13 winners so your chances are pretty high. :)

We need a picture of Adam to end this post right, don't we? I agree.

  1. Glad I'm not the only Idol fan. *grin*

I used to think the show would sink without Simon, but you know what? I actually like it better now. Steven Tyler is a hoot.

  3. I love American Idol too. I didn't watch last season, since there was too much going on in my life, but I did watch it last night. Steven Tyler is funny! And he kisses a LOT of women! Ha ha! :)
And Adam Levine. Beautiful, beautiful man. *sigh*

    1. I know, right? How about his comment to the 15 yo girl. I think he's a bit girl crazy. But it makes me laugh.

  4. You make me laugh, Kasie West. It's like we are the same person some days. Except I'm too shy to have pretend/real conversations with Adam Levine. I will live vicariously through your fearless stalkership.

    1. :) This is why we're BFFs. But you definitely need to join the stalkership. It's fun. He never responds. And I think I'm being so clever. It makes me laugh. :)

  5. Ok, I am so glad you tweet Adam. I responded to one of his tweets once and had a glimmer of hope he might respond... he didn't. Now I feel too stupid to try again. Ha ha ha! He is so very beautiful though...

    1. LOL I feel a little stupid as I hit send and then I just smile and think, 'I'm talking to Adam.' Ha! It's a very misguided thought but it's how stalkers justify it, right? :) Love him so much.

  6. YES! to all of it. We watched AI last night and it was pretty funny. The really bad singers I have to watch through my fingers because I'm so embarrassed for them.

And Adam is the ONLY reason I watch The Voice. Yum. The end.

    1. You are a smart woman with good taste. :) The bad singers make me uncomfortable too, but they have to know how bad they are, right???

  7. I love American Idol, too, and like it more without Paula and Simon. Surprised me, but I do. Hmmm, I wonder why they don't open the competition up to seniors; I mean, we old farts like to make a joyful noise, too.

    1. I know, right? Although, I wouldn't last one second on that show. But it would be fun to see some older contestants.

  8. I watched a bit of American Idol last night and wow those teenagers can sing. I liked the tap dancer who sang Sunday morning by none other than Maroon.

    Thanks for the photo, btw.

    1. OH, I loved the tap dancer too! (and it may or may not be because she has good taste in music) :)

  9. I haven't watched American Idol for awhile but I did follow a couple seasons very closely. My husband never got it...he doesn't think singing competitions are interesting. Well, I don't think sweaty men throwing balls into baskets are interesting. SO THERE. And I think it takes a lot of guts to stalk, especially witty stalking. I'm sure Adam is biting his nails because he can't think of anything witty to say BACK to you.

    1. Oh, Jessie, why must you feed my delusions? That comment alone will make me double my @ responses to Adam. :) And, you should definitely start watching American Idol again. And you should tape your above comment to the television and if your husband complains, just point to it. :)

  10. I love American Idol because it is all about dreams coming true. As writers, we're all dreamers, right? I too thought that without Simon it wouldn't be as enjoyable. But Steven Tyler and JLo totally make up for him not being there. I haven't watched the new episodes yet, but they are waiting for me on my DVR.

  11. I've been having DVR issues and so have not gotten to watch any American Idol episodes yet. It is a true tragedy over here. Watch it and think of me... *weeps*

But I better darn well get it fixed before The Voice starts... Can't miss seeing Adam. It makes me so very happy. :) I blame you for that new-found obsession, btw.
