I Love Movies

This last weekend I saw SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN. I'm not going lie, I mainly saw it because of this guy:

And he was a very good reason to see it. He was amazing! But all Hemsworths aside, the movie was really good. I was a little worried that Bella would make an appearance, but I thought K-Stew did a good job. The english accent may have helped. And there were only a few heavy sighs and stuttered lines. So I thought she pulled it off.

I knew this lady would be amazing:

And she was in a hauntingly creepy sort of way.

So all in all I loved this movie.

  1. I'm DYING to see this movie! Loved your wrap-up, especially the take on Bella, I mean, K-Stew. :D Unfortunately, I have to wait a teeny bit longer because the hubby and I are having a date night tonight and he's pining to see Prometheus. (Clearly I got outvoted...:D) In the end, I think I'm going to have to gather a girl posse to go see Snow White.

Cool post Kasie! And congrats again on your latest book deal! So cool!

    1. Thanks, Lynne! And yes, your husband really did win on that one. But you definitely need to get some girls together for The Huntsman.

  2. Thanks for the review, I've really wanted to see this one, but it has had mixed reviews.

It was funny because me and my friend really loved the trailer but then I realized it was because K-Stew doesn't talk in it.

    1. I know! By how often they show K-Stew in the trailers you'd think she wasn't in it at all.

  3. At first this movie was called, "The Huntsman." Then they changed it...maybe because the Huntsman all my himself wasn't recognizable enough? Anyway, it's crazy all this Snow White business of late in movies and TV. I'm going to go eat an apple.

  4. Kasie - I loved this movie too but many of my friends HATED it. I loved Charlize Theron's performance in it - she MADE the movie. I wished there had been more background info (i.e. Snow White....like what did she do up there in that tower for all that time, LOL).

I hope they make a prequel of The Queen's character. Would LOVE to see her rise to power. :)

What I really dug about this movie* was how it showed women's sexual awakenings and how it gave them power.

*I think I'm onto this whole sexual awakening/loss of innocence/feminity=power thing...I wrote my college senior thesis on it/The Golden Compass. *snort*

    1. Wow, Rachel, look at you all deep and stuff and I'm like: Me like Chris Hemsworth. Me think he hot.

lol But seriously, it would be awesome to see a prequel of the Queen's character. I loved this little flashbacks they showed of her past life. A whole movie about it would be awesome.

  5. I just spent the weekend at the movies as well. I saw "Snow White and the Huntsman" as well. Like you, I was afraid "Bella" would show up with her emotional "Twilight" self. The movie wasn't great but it wasn't terrible at all. In fact, it was cool to see it but I wanted 7 evil little dwarfs to come around. lol

Then on Sunday I went and saw "Prometheus." If you haven't seen it, I mean to tell you it was great. Ridley Scott did a bang up job.
