WAIT!!!!!!
I know you want to scroll down and see the cover. I know. I do it all the time. I never read before I look. But I just want to prepare you a little first. Addie is not on the cover. What does this mean?! you might ask. Does it mean she is not the POV character, that her story doesn't continue, that we won't get to read about Trevor and Duke?? No, that is not what it means. But it does mean that there is another POV character as well for this book: Laila. And that is who gets to star on the second cover, which I absolutely love. Okay, if you haven't already, go look!

ISN'T IT GORGEOUS????
So, do you want to hear what it's about now?
Summary:
Life can change in a split second.
Addie hardly recognizes her life since her parents divorced. Her boyfriend used her. Her best friend betrayed her. She can’t believe this is the future she chose. On top of that, her ability is acting up. She’s always been able to Search the future when presented with a choice. Now she can manipulate and slow down time, too . . . but not without a price.
When Addie’s dad invites her to spend her winter break with him, she jumps at the chance to escape into the Norm world of Dallas, Texas. There she meets the handsome and achingly familiar Trevor. He’s a virtual stranger to her, so why does her heart do a funny flip every time she sees him? But after witnessing secrets that were supposed to stay hidden, Trevor quickly seems more suspicious of Addie than interested in her. And she has an inexplicable desire to change that.
Meanwhile, her best friend, Laila, has a secret of her own: she can restore Addie’s memories . . . once she learns how. But there are powerful people who don’t want to see this happen. Desperate, Laila tries to manipulate Connor, a brooding bad boy from school—but he seems to be the only boy in the Compound immune to her charms. And the only one who can help her.

What DIDN'T I like about Pivot Point? Um...I loved the whole thing. I loved your writing style. The fact that it made us friends and that you enjoy my grabby hands and cupcakes and mocking and people watching. And you know, OMG TREVOR.
ReplyDeleteAhhhhh the cover will look very pretty next to Pivot Point. What I loved about Pivot Point were how the parallel lives Addie leads come together and apart, and how Addie grows in both of them. Can't wait to read from Laila's POV!!
ReplyDeleteGAH! I didn't want to share about the giveaway with my Twitter followers but I had to. I seriously CAN NOT WAIT for this book! I thought Pivot Point was one of the most cleaver books I have read in a long long time. I loved how it felt like getting two books in one and how everything connected in some way. Oh and Kasie, #adamlevineishot.
ReplyDeleteIt really amazed me how Pivot Point was both a bubbly, fun YA contemporary while still being a nail biting thriller. Absolutely loved it :) Especially Trevor

Love this cover! I'm dying for this book. I seriously loved PIVOT POINT, so this (as well as THE DISTANCE BETWEEN US) have been on my hurry-up-and-release-already list since I turned the last page.
ReplyDeleteUm, and I just read the comment instructions when I started entering. So, what I loved about PIVOT POINT: Even though at the end of the book technically nothing we had read happened, I didn't feel cheated. I also loved how the two versions were interwoven.
DeleteI love time-slip stories like this, and Pivot Point just got it so right. I can't believe we're lucky enough to get more time with these characters! Yay! It's like FNL meets Sliding Doors, and I'm all about that. I'm following this blog, btw.
ReplyDeletePivot Point was a completely amazing story that I haven't been able to shut up about since I read it! Everyone I've recommended it too, adults and teens alike, have also loved it. This cover is fantastic and the blurb makes me want this sequel even more! Thanks for the giveaway opportunity and thank you for having this awesome story continue!
ReplyDeleteWhat's not to love about Pivot Point? Nothing. Everything is great and lovable. The normal and the para, the abilities, Trevor, everything! I seriously can't wait for the sequel and now with the cover, it's all the more real! That it's coming! :Q_____________ *drools* *incoherent* That cover... That blurb... That title... *faints*
ReplyDeleteI loved Pivot Point. And I REALLY love Trevor
ReplyDeleteI loved the main character and her sarcasm
ReplyDeleteSeriously loving the cover!!! It was definitely worth the long wait. ;)
ReplyDeleteI loved EVERYTHING about Pivot Point, but one of the things I loved the most was how relatable the characters were, even if some of them had extraordinary powers.
I cannot wait to get my hands on Split Second!!! Thanks for the giveaway! :)

I loved how the two story lines were completely different but also had similarities that made the reader aware this is the same life, just different outcomes. I loved how the entire story came together. So wonderful.

ReplyDeleteI'm sorry, what wasn't there to love about Pivot Point? The writing was amazing, I fell in love with the characters (especially trevor!!!!!) and I loved how at the end, Addie knew what she had to do, even if she didn't want to do it. And did I mention it was mind-blowingly good?
ReplyDeleteCan't wait until this comes out!

ReplyDeletePivot point was the perfect blend of paranormal, romance, AND KICK BUTT MURDER MYSTERY! It totally caught me by surprise and I loved every second of it.
ReplyDeletePivot Point was such an incredible story. I love how a person's life can turn out so different by the choices she makes. It was not like anything I have read before. I'm looking forward to Split Second very much. Thank you so much for giving us a chance to win this amazing book. P.S. The cover is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteDo I have to just pick one thing I loved? The premise itself is brilliant, and then there's the execution of it, which broke my heart at the end and had me banging my head on the back out the couch b/c the second book wasn't out yet! Cannot wait for Split Second!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing about PIVOT POINT is that it brought us together!!! You are all in for such a treat with SPLIT SECOND!!!

My favorite thing about Pivot Point was that it read like a contemporary novel. The relationships were at the heart of the story and not just the powers. It's what made it a stand-out novel in my mind!!
ReplyDeleteI CAN"T WAIT FOR THIS BOOK!!!!!!

ReplyDeleteI love this so so so very much. *grabby hands* I NEED IT IN MY LIFE!
ReplyDeletePivot Point was seriously the best book I have read this whole year. It was unique, it was heart breaking, and it had me wondering how on earth things were going to work out for the best. My sister is Chantele Sedgwick, one of your fellow authors I believe, and she told me to buy your book, and I thank her for it every day. It sits on my ever growing bookshelf in my room. :) Thank you for such a beautiful and brilliant novel. I cannot wait for book two! You're one of the most talented writers I've ever come across!
ReplyDeleteAW. Thank you so much! And I love Chantele. :) Good to "meet" her sister.

ReplyDeleteI loved the twists, and how everything connected together perfectly for a well-developed plot.
Pivot Point is purr-feection! ;) And oh, I'm already following Some Like It Paranormal and Wholly Books via GFC (operativealyssa)
ReplyDeleteI loved that Addie had to choose between two possible futures and the love stories were just brilliant!! <3
ReplyDeleteOk, I've just finished reading Pivot Point, and I HAD TO check out your website in order to find out more about you! I loved the book! I read it in about 5 hours, it kept me from studying for my business law exam, but it was totally worth it! :D
ReplyDeleteThe cover for Split Second looks amazing, Laila is just gorgeous!
I adore every single thing about this series and I am so excited to be a part of the reveal for this cover! I can't wait to get to read this next book.
ReplyDeleteI loved the world and the basic concept of the Compound and Addie's gift! :) (p.s LOVE the cover for Split Second! cant wait till it releases!)
ReplyDeleteI loved:
ReplyDelete1. The sense of familiarity and connection between Addie and Trevor, no matter when or how they meet.
2. The coolness of Addie's ability being tempered by the weight of knowing the outcome of a choice and having different options to choose from
3. “Just promise me something. If this is a Search and you don't pick me, don't pick this path, for whatever reason, promise me you won't Erase me.”
4. That the story doesn't end at the end of Pivot Point!

ReplyDeleteI loved Pivot Point! The whole idea is so creative. I liked hearing about both of the sides of Addie's future, but mostly the one with Trevor. I was so heartbroken at the end, and I have a feeling Split Second will break it even more. D:
ReplyDeleteAnd I followed this blog, does that count for the giveaway?
ReplyDeleteI loved how easy it was to get swept up into Pivot Point. I tend to get sick while reading in the car, but I did not let that stop me and powered through it. So worth it! ;)

ReplyDeleteI love the unique way in which Pivot Point was written. You see the two alternatives, so the readers are not left with any "what-ifs". I also really enjoyed how fast paced the book is and what a beautiful story line it has. Pivot Point is one of my favorite reads in 2013! <3
