Raw

Okay, since I very much enjoyed both Natalie and Kiersten's posts, and since I can't very well revel in their bravery without presenting my own offering in return, I give you: Kasie without make-up. You might want to shield your eyes, it's pretty scary. No, but seriously, I am now 32 years old and I can say, I have never been happier with myself. I definitely wasn't happier when I was a super skinny teenager and yet still always worried about what everyone thought about me. I wasn't as happy in my child bearing years when my body was always somebody else's and up and down in weight and emotions as I went through seven very difficult pregnancies. Now, maybe my body isn't as tone and thin as it was in high school, and I have crows feet and dark circles around my eyes. But I have always loved my smile, which is a good thing because I love to smile.

  1. SEVEN kids? Go you! Wow, you look great, and you really do have a beautiful smile. Skinny is totally overrated, no? It so is. And, from what I've seen in previous pics, you're still pretty skinny, missy.

  2. No, I don't have seven kids. Which I am extremely happy about. :) I have four. I had three second trimester miscarriages (one at twenty weeks) which were very hard. But, everyone has their own challenges and I feel very blessed with my beautiful children. :)

Thanks, btw, I feel great. :)

  3. Okay, all I have to say is....I have always been jealous of how pretty you are. Even without makeup...because we all know that you don't wear that much anyway, you have natural beauty and you can't beat that!! I may have never told you but seriously I envy you...it's not fair when you have two older sisters that are georgeous! It's doubly not fair when you are with said sisters (who are 6 & 8 years older than you), and no one can tell the difference in our ages. So here's to my pity party and my two beautiful sisters on the inside and out!!

  4. Oh, wow, Kasie, you have definitely seen your share of challenges! You are such a strong person. I will stop whining about my trivial issues now:)

  5. Aw, Steph, you're going to make me cry. But you're definitely not going to make me feel sorry for you, because I know you're a babe, and now everybody else does too because I've posted all those pics of you. So time to drop the act, little sis, we're on to you. :) Besides if we're going to talk about jealousy, I must say I've always envied your beautiful eyes, give them to me!

Natalie, I love to whine, so don't stop whining on my account. :) And I don't know that I'm strong, just a realist. Plus I have the most amazing family and friends that support me. It sounds like you do too.

  6. Kasie, you're beautiful. And you're right--you have a GREAT smile! Gorgeous teeth, too ; )

    And I *love* your dimples.

Isn't it interesting how we can appreciate our bodies for the stories they tell now?

  7. Jeez, why didn't I do this earlier? My ego is expanding by the second. :) Thanks, Kiersten. And yes, our bodies have quite a story to tell and I do appreciate it.

My husband who has a wrinkle right in between his eyes said he wanted botox (he was kidding...well, maybe he wasn't...hmmm) and I was like, if you're getting botox for your tiny wrinkle then I get to get it for all my crows feet and he said, Kasie, I love those they're evidence of how much you smile. They make me happy. And I was like, aww, that is so sweet.

  8. You look great! Wish I looked as good as you WITH makeup! Enjoy your youth!

  9. You know I think you're beautiful, and I have seen you many, many times without makeup! I also think you have the best smile and dimples to match. You're a lucky, lucky girl to have so much natural beauty. I think what Jared said is really cute! (way to go Jared! cuz I know you're lurking ;) BTW, see you in a couple hours for TWILIGHT!! woohoo!

  10. Make-up, no make-up, it doesn't matter. All that matters is the smile. They're contagious, too!

  11. Terri, thanks. You look great yourself.

Candi, yes, you have seen me way too many times without make up on. It's scary how rarely I wear it. And, Candi, since everyone says we look alike if you tell me I'm beautiful it's like saying that you are. Huh, does that make you conceded? :) I think you're a babe too, so that must make me conceded. Love ya!

Joanne, I completely agree. Smiles are the best!

  12. Hey hot stuff, Hugh Jackman here-sexiest man alive, as if you didn't know- anywho... I have to say, if I wasn't married we would SO be going out right now. I'm totally into the brainy, dimply types. Oops, gotta run! I have to make it to the "Twilight" premiere to see if that guy plays the role of crazy haired bad boy as well as I did in X-men. Toodles. -Your Australian Dandy

  13. Holy crap! Hugh Jackman comments on your blog! I'm going to be hanging around here more often.

    *I love you, Hugh.* ;)

Kasie, you look fabulous! I agree with Kiersten, the dimples are adorable!

Also, I went to the Twilight premier last night. I blogged about it. How did you like it?

  14. Hugh Jackman, Wow how did you know that you're like my favorite actor. It's almost like someone told you. For example, someone who knows me really well. Oh well, don't tell my husband, he might go crazy with jealousy. :)

Renee, thanks, I love my dimples too. Now, the Twilight premiere, hmmm, maybe I should go on your blog first to see what you thought, but I won't. I'll go as soon as I'm done. The first word that comes to mind is: cheesy. But overall I was satisfied. Some of the looks Edward gave made me laugh. I told my friend he looked constipated. But when he relaxed I liked him better. Jacob I loved. The humans I found surprisingly entertaining. And Bella did a great job. Oh, and Charlie, loved Charlie. That's about it. Not a huge fan of the documentary style.

  15. You're as cute as a button! And don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

(Ha! You may call me a lurker no more!)

  16. Suzanne, you made a comment! I am both excited and sad. I was enjoying calling you a lurker. But I will get over it because I love comments especially ones where you tell me I'm cute. :) Did you hear you were on the news this morning? Ha ha. Somehow I managed to be just far enough away from Steph that I didn't get in the shot. I had so much fun last night with you trying not to laugh beside me. Let's go to cheesy movies together all the time.

  17. I am totally horrified that I was on the news. But I'm also pretty excited that Fresno got to see Steph's flashing-without-the-actual-flashing maneuver.

  18. Kasie- Face it, your hot! Even your pool boy thinks so!

  19. There is NO WAY I look that good without makeup. When I see myself without makeup I think I look similar to a skull with eyeballs.

    You've always been so cute!
