A Rarity

Finding my husband and I in the same picture together is a nearly impossible task. Usually one of us is behind the camera. When the rare event occurs, I am always pleasantly surprised. My father-in-law sent this to me, a shot he captured over Christmas. I was so happy that I felt the need to post it.

One of my hobbies is photography. If one were to flip through the scrapbooks, which depict the last ten years of our life, my face rarely makes an appearance. (not that I'm complaining, I prefer to be behind the camera. My kids are way cuter.) What about you? Do you find you're in front of the camera more or behind it?

  2. I am ALWAYS behind the camera. Although, in the last year I've tried to make more of an effort to be in pictures too. I looked back through pictures of my childhood and there were almost no pictures of me with my mom. I didn't want it to be like that with my kids, so I started letting my hubby take some pictures too.

  3. Loved seeing such a happy couple.

More often than not, I'm behind the camera. If I look through my old photos, I'd find that when my husband did grab the camera it was to take a less than flattering shot of me. Not that I'm reading anything into that. :-)

  4. Since the invention of the digital camera I have not seen a single picture of my family unless another family memeber takes it and mails it to me. I don't know how to use our printer nor do I know how to download onto a disc or even to upload to the picture developing place. But it hasn't stopped my from taking a zillion pictures.

  7. What a beautifully delicious man. I have this picture in a frame in my house, except I have pasted a picture of myself over the top of the woman's face. I think it's better that way.

  8. Well, he's a keeper! About photo-taking, I'm usually the taker and not the takee, and that's fine by everyone. :)

  9. Jenni, I know, we're so excited.

Jenn, I'm camera man too, but you're right, its important to have pics with our kids. I know I wish I had taken more with my dad.

Linda, LOL. Aren't husbands the best? So, yeah, writer's group tonight, uh, I forgot to close my mouth again.

Tricia, you're cracking me up. You are going to have tons of little memory cards full of pics and no images. Awesome. Good luck with all that, I'm horrible with technology.

Lady Glam, thanks. And isn't photography fun? I love it.

  10. Super Nanny, you are no longer welcome in my house. Take your posh accent and your superior parenting skills and go away. :)

Angie, yeah, I think I'll keep him.

  11. What a cute picture. I'm always behind the camera and not because I have any skill there, but because my husband never takes pictures, so if I didn't do it nobody would.

  12. Cute pic, Kasie. I have very few pictures of Dave and I together too... it's sad really.
But, I take lots of pictures of my kids...

  13. Kasie, cute pic! I feel the same way as you. There are like two pictures of my husband and I together. It's always the kids and one parent. But, I'm okay with that. My kids are pretty cute, I guess. :)

Also, belated congrats on finishing your fairy story!! And, I couldn't help but notice on the side bar that you have listed it as "under agent review." ???? Do you have exciting news to share?!

  14. Ummm, you're talking to the girl that posted a picture of herself being wrapped like a mummy by her youngest child, cuz that's all she could find of herself mostly alone. LOL. To get a picture of myself I have to crop one down! I really should have a photo shoot someday! You, know for the back of my book (if I actually ever finish it for the third time around!!)

I love your picture BTW! Whenever I try to take pics with my hubby he can't be serious long enough to get a good one. I usually get ready to print up our pictures only to find that he stuck his tongue out at me in all of them!! MEN!
