I'd rather be boating

In the winter when the world turns hazy and cold, I love to snuggle up in my sweats, rest my macbook on my legs and write away. I draw the shades, turn out the lights, and write until I remember I have kids. Winter turns to spring, but the sun still spends most of its time behind the clouds and its easy to ignore. But summer in the valley comes fast and hard and the sun refuses to be shut out or forgotten. Temperatures skyrocket into the hundreds and the lake calls to me.




Seriously, this is how big I smile when I'm at the lake. It's like perma-grin. So, I'd rather be boating. Where would you rather be?

    I want to be on vacation, that's for sure. Anywhere, at this moment. Maybe I shouldn't tell you I've never ever been boating.

    Yeah, see, there's a few things that have stopped me. Like, uh, bathing suits and nerves over deep water...and sunburns, those suck.

    But maybe if I find a bathing suit that can wrangle my boobs while not making them look like crap...we'll talk. I can get over the other things.

    Oh, you are going to make me cry. I am a total fish. Growing up in Hawaii will do that to you.

    At this moment, I want to be at Temple Beach. My beach. The one that was directly across the street from our house in Laie.

    That looks like so much fun. I haven't been out on a boat in a while. I'm pretty happy right now snuggling in with my laptop in a comfy chair. That reminds me. I don't have to sit at the desk. I should move to where I'd rather be. Heehee. Comfy chair here I come.

    hate to boat--especially in FLorida with alligators etc.
    But you look like you love it for sure!
    I would like to be on a plane right now heading to visit my daughter and family:)) Then I would be smiling big!

    Oooh, I'd like to be sitting next to a cool river in the mountains. It's 90 degrees here today, ugh... (and it was field day at my daughter's school--I think I got sunburnt)

    I'd rather be scuba diving. And guess what? I'm going. For the first time in five years! Grand Cayman, June 25-July 1st. YIPPEE!

    I must say I was immediately captivated by the title of your post until I realized it was about boating and not bloating.

    This tells me two things: 1) I need my eyes checked, and 2) There's a grim possibility I may be bloating.

    Oh I wish I was boating but my first love is scuba, the only problem is the money factor :( so I guess I'll sit here and read :)

    Nat, we'll work on it. If not, wetsuits are always an option. :) They'll wrangle the bust and keep away the sunburn. LOL

    Renee, I almost started sobbing with you until I realized what you said. Growing up in Hawaii..... That is the point I stopped feeling sorry for you. Ha. I love Hawaii. Which island, btw?

    Jenn, sounds very relaxing.

    Lois, I love my cushy chair. Love it. My husband makes fun of it because I believe it is starting to get an imprint of my bum. But I love it.

    Terri, it's always great to be surrounded by family. And if my lake was full of alligators I wouldn't be out there either. YIKES.

    Corey, that sounds awesome. I've always wanted to scuba dive. I'm jealous.

    Boating with you guys, but only if Jared is not driving like a maniac while I'm on the tube!! Other favorites, Lake Tahoe and Hawaii. Renee made me want to go on vacation there big time!!
